3 Factors That Impact Spiritual Evolution

The soul longs to be free. The nature of the mind is emptiness. Ego identity is formed around fear. The spiritual path is crowded with concepts, reifications, misunderstandings, resistance to change, bias, bigotry and blame.
The spiritual path is often referred to as:

Expansion of Consciousness
Inner Work
Personal Development
Spiritual Development

Whatever we call it, it is important to [...]

My uncle, his wife wife and four children had just come from a grocery store to buy a few items needed for the dinner. Everybody hurried to play except my uncle’s wife who started to prepare the meal.

Meanwhile my uncle went to the vacant lot in the opposite side of the house to check a few things there. He used as a parking lot and their van was parked about 500 meters away from him when suddenly he heard a horn blowing!

The rain has barely let up in the City of Makati (here in the Philippines). Hundreds of commuters were stranded and literally swarming along the highway. I felt as helpless as the person next to me. Buses were nowhere in sight and the head count was increasing by the second. Thirty minutes and counting… an hour and still nothing. My feet hurt and I was getting restless, so I whispered a silent prayer that my guardian angel and St. Michael, the Archangel, woul

My true story happened last year. I am totally blind, and have been since I was a tiny baby. Yet God is so awesome to be letting me see angels!

I dreamed that I saw a little angel, kind of like a cherub. I had no idea where I was, but there was this group of people around me. Out of nowhere I was suddenly looking at this angelic figure. I think someone was holding it. At first I thought it was a toy or a porcelain doll, but every time I saw it’s face, I would see a faint starlight glow, different to that of any glow seen on earth.

Four years ago I dreamed I stepped out of my body while I was sleeping; I looked back at my body and smiled. There was a sense of peace that swept over me me as I watched my body sleeping.

Suddenly a bright flash as bright as the sun exploded; when I looked around I was standing on a plain of clouds with a bright light emanating joy. I smiled and tears streamed down my face. It felt like home. I remember looking around and noticed there were about 30 or more figures in white all with bright gold, or silver or white wings standing there smiling at me.

I looked to my left and there was a man standing there about eight feet tall or more. He was slightly bald and incredibly clean shaven. I grinned at him. “Gabriel?!?

Bounced particle of being
Between string and beyond the Outer Banks of the Universe
Once trapped light of harmony free upon the contrails of existence
Absent gravity’s pull sunbathing in the cosmic glow of eternal jubilee

Bounced; bumped; transfixed permutation of identity
Spiritual world of first becoming before Adam’s dream began
One with the divine pulse of humanity where neighbors share smiles
Absent darkest night when earth burned in tears of sorrow and regret

String across infinity without beginning or end
Particle, twisting upward, dancing upon the elevated plumes of stardust
Spiral outward, inward, onward; flowing with the eternal river of life
Passage of perfection reflecting the sun’s warm and constant presence

I watched a movie the other day starring the country music queen, Dolly Parton. “Unlikely Angel” was the story of a young singer who died and. upon entering heaving, was sent back to earth to do good deeds to “earn her wings” as an angel.

Is such a thing possible?

Not according to Scripture, although this is a very common misconception. Why? I think it is because people are comforted with the thought that their loved ones become angels when they get to heaven. Oftentimes people will say to me, “Oh how blessed you are to have an angel like your dear departed mother watching over you!” My mother was a saint to be sure. But she is NOT an angel. It is not possible in God’s scheme of things.

Angels are prevalent throughout the Bible although we are not told much of their nature except that they are not flesh and blood (like human beings), but are spiritual beings. They are simply referred to as “messengers” of God and created by Him (Psalm 148). Job (the oldest book in the Bible) informs angels were present at the creation of the world, and upon observing the awesome work of God’s hands they “shouted for

Since I was old enough to remember, my dad has been in the ministry and is still a pastor of a church in my hometown. When I was around ten years old my father had just been led to serve as a Associate/Youth Pastor at a church near where we were living at the time. However, it did require us to move. We were blessed to be able to stay in the church’s staff house while my dad served at this church.

We had been at this particular church for a just a couple of months when God really began to work through my dad and the youth ministry he was leading. It began to grow and open its doors to more spiritual growth and learning through God. The church as a body of Christ was grateful and excited about the way the ministry was growing. On the other hand the devil was not, and had apparently been working very hard to bring this particular youth ministry and the church as a whole down.

Yesterday as I was in an elevator in the Time Warner Building going from my gym to Whole Foods. A couple and I began to speak with each other. They asked me how I was, and although they were complete strangers to me I began telling them that I was upset because I could not find my cell phone.
I told them that the night before I was coming home from a dinner downtown and that the ride that normally takes about one-half hour took almost two hours. It was pouring rain and the highway had been shut down. I did not get home until 1:00 in the morning but I was grateful I did make it home. Still I was not quite myself from the experience.

We chatted a bit longer and then the man said to me, “Don’t worry; your cell phone is right on the end table where you left it.”

While I was shopping and on the way home I was thinking about my phone and already musing about what I would do if I had lost it.

When I got home, I looked and
